A lot of ingeniosity went into this project.

I have so much more respect for these resurections than mint units.

That respect got me into very poor investments but the moral gratification of getting one of these basses back to life worth the expense.

Collectors are a bunch of OCD sufferers anyway.

Except watch collectors... Watches must be unmodified! :D
I feel the same. My wallet hurts in ways I didn't know existed  , but it feels great bringing it back to life.

BTW, just to be clear, it's neither.
Oh, I was sure of that.

As long as you can see the maple, it won't matter. I've often thought a Rick with nice maple would look great with a trans-orange finish and may do that some day if the right candidate turns up. (or maybe my '67 RM  )

I do love MG and FG, but there's something else I love more. And though I do normally love Azure above all things, it's not that either. You'll see the maple, don't worry. :D

Trans-orange would be cool. Go for it!

One of the transparent finishes reserved for the 4004CII series would be very nice.

Give the man a cigar! :D Well, two-thirds of one, as it's not just any Blueburst. I've only seen one example like this, and it wasn't a bass.

Colour and clear coat - now waiting for curing (2 weeks!) before being buffed etc. Larry says the grain will pop a lot more once that's done. The colour in the first picture is apparently the most accurate; I have some colour samples Larry did (basically a mock up off a section of the bass, painted appropriately) and I'd say the first is pretty close to what it actually looks like, although you lose the subtleties.

It's lovely, just think how stunningly beautiful it could have been had it been Fireglo ...

Joking aside Shaun, that's a lovely finish, can't wait to see it buffed and polished.
