Neck 2000 4003

Post by arkhon »

Hello everyone,

I've an offer for a 4003 from july 2000 which is far form my place.
I tried a 1999 4003 before and the neck was quite thick, anyone knows about neck profiles from 2000 ?

Thanx !

THICK!

They start slimming back down to somewhat reasonable around 2007-2009, IIRC.

I have a '00 4003s5 and its neck is fairly chunky. Don't know if that was standard fare for the period or something happening with the 5 stringers or S model... HTH!

I have a June 2000 4003 JetGlo. I wouldn't say the neck is particularly thick. Definitely thicker and wider than a Jazz (or my Epiphone Ripper). I find it very comfortable and reasonably fast. All that said, I have not played any other Rics in recent times, so I can't really compare.
