Green Glo @ Ed Roman's

Post by tntele »

I am interested in the Green Glo 330 or 360 at Ed Roman's. Is this a special run just for Ed or is this a refin by Ed? I called them and the guy on the phone did not know and told me to call back. I have heard mixed issues regarding Ed, but the color on that guitar has me thinking of taking my chances. Has anyone been in his shop and seen these guitars? Thanks for your input.

I think this is an Ed refin. Ed has a history of "Improving" Rics in his vision, with "Better" bridges, "better" electronics, etc. Be wary. I'm not telling you not to shop with Ed, if you want it, go for it, but I have heard too many stories for my liking.

I played one that he "improved" and it almost made me throw up. I like them the way Rickenbacker intended them, not some smug guitar dealer's idea of how they should be.

He actually let you PLAY one? WOW! I thought they were behind velvet ropes or something!

his green glo isn't as "glo" as he makes it out to be. the picture is stolen from a site that documents a rare rickenbacker finish (only 2 in the world or something?) and he tries to emulate this. the picture isn't what you'll get.

this was discussed in depth somewhere on this forum. look for Ed Roman subject titles.

I wonder what site?
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Peter, I certainly have no idea. Probably some guy from Canada with a large Rickenbacker site and adjoining forum. Just a wild guess, of course. Image
