4004 delivery today!

Post by Ashgray »

Hi all

After a morning of RAS (Rick Acquisition Syndrome!) I've just picked up delivery of a 2012 4004 Jetglo - my first "modern" Rick, and wow! Incredible sound - unmistakeably from the same Rick stable as my vintage basses but with a modern edge to it. And, to my surprise, the 4004 still features that good old Rick growl, particularly when I dig in.

Glad to be a member of the 4004 Club at last!

Love the Jetglo/Gold combo. Congrats!

And just my twopence on the harness,i have 3 totally different Dane-ish :D wiring controls in my 4004's.
I really prefer the VVT with individual coil taps in my Cii to the MV/Pan/tone controls in my Ci.
They both work well,though!
Changing out the components brings out the best of the excellent HB1 pickups.

Good call Ash!! Dane's work is featured in my TVY cii "Two-Off" that used to belong to Sepp.

It definitely sounds "Wilder".

Nice! If the pots spec close to 330K then it'll sound good to great. But 500K pots really do bring the growl out more.

I put dual concentrics on my Laredo.
