Hello All, I recently bought my first 330. It is from 1987 and has a gorgeous ruby finish. The friend I purchased it from said he bought it from Mark "Microwave" Mytrowitz who used to be REM's equipment manager/Guitar Tech until his unfortunate passing. I contacted the band's last equipment manager to see if he had any info about the guitar. He did not. The guitar came with the OHSC with a Rickenbacker catalog/poster from 1986. The bridge cover and original strap buttons were also included. I was looking around on line to see if I might be able to dig something up on this guitar. I finally found the video below. The video is of REM at a benefit show in 1989 where the band is joined onstage by "Micro and the Melons" at the 2:37 mark you can see the stage left guitar appears to be a ruby 330. I have not yet confirmed it is the same guitar but it most likely is. Microwave is playing the Les Paul and I am not sure who is playing the 330. I always love it when you find out the story behind the instrument.
