I have never seen one of these, tell me more! I had no idea Ric had ever done a bolt-on model.

Yep. The 2000 and 3000 series basses are bolt-ons. I have two
-- a 3000 (short-scale) and a 3001 (long-scale). Check the registry for more info. Or Paul's book.
Re: Glenn Frey Signature Model
Contact Jeff Scott, he has one.
That price seems reasonable to me. If I had the cash I'd buy it.
Edit: on second thought, its not quite as nice as I first thought.

Re: Glenn Frey Signature Model
Most aggressive Rick bass I have owned and versatile sounding. It has a deep extended bottom end to it and the neck (on mine, as I have played a couple with a fairly fat neck) is very '70s like.
Mine might be available, and for a much better price, too.

I love the 2030GF! I think that's a decent price for a brick and mortar store. Find another signature edition Rick for under $2K, I dare you.

What are the electronics / PU's like on these?jps wrote:Most aggressive Rick bass I have owned and versatile sounding. It has a deep extended bottom end to it and the neck (on mine, as I have played a couple with a fairly fat neck) is very '70s like.

The harness is like that on a 4004 (although, I have not looked to see what the values are), and the HB-2 pickups are dead silent and IMO have more of the Rick-like aggression we think of as a classic Rick than the HB-1 pickups. Some of that may be down to the maple fingerboard.

Re: Glenn Frey Signature Model
The basses are great. I had one of the guitars in the early 2000's, though, and was never impressed with it, but I think that's simply because I'm more of a single coil guy when it comes to guitars.
Re: Glenn Frey Signature Model
Jason, did you use the 230GF for slide?
Re: Glenn Frey Signature Model
No. I have no idea why Walsh did that on HFO. Mine had ridiculously low action, straight neck, like most Ricks.
