Where could I find replacement pg and trc for an 89 4003?

Post by armybass »

I am looking for a replacement black pickguard and truss rod cover for and 89 4003. Also looking for a pickup surround for the same bass. Any ideas where I could locate these parts?

Check with major dealers on the pickup surround, places such as Pick of the Ricks.

I recommend Pickguardian for everything pick guard ish!

I don't think RIC trades TRCs anymore, but if your's is a standard white TRC with raised black letters, here's an easy way to convert it to a black one:

Paint the TRC with black spray can lacquer and let it dry. Carefully sand off the black paint from the raised letters. Voila, a black TRC with raised white letters! You may want to overcoat it with a clear lacquer.

+1 on Pickguardian.

And you may want to post on this Forum's Marketplace Wanted... sometimes folks will swap different color TRCs, or have an extra for sale.

What finish is your bass?
Watch those teeth, Marlin. I'm not sure we've properly sedated the beast . . .
