I paid $2600 for a Shadow about a year ago. That was way over the top but I really wanted it. I guess I can understand $2500 for a V63 then.

Blood would look really cool against black paint! :-) Seriously, if other BlackStars are like mine, I could understand dropping heavy bucks on one. I love mine but I have had it since 1990 or so. It has the lowest action of any (ANY) Rick I have ever played. The sound is amazing - bright and loud.

Geez, I'm not a hemopheliac Image

If I can play the 4003s8 regularly without blister problems and once I am sure of keeping it I'll probably search out black plastic for it and get the chrome black-chrome-powdercoated....I may even refinish the neck in black. Maybe that will satisfy my want/need for the Blackstar.....which is more cosmetic than for any other reason.

Hey Brian-

I was "told" the BT Schallers were discontinued, ya better get 'em while they're hot.

You'll need a bunch.

You'll need black screws too

Jared.....I really don't want to buy all new hardware. I think that I am just going to strip my chrome stuff and have it powdercoated in black chrome....which looks great. I know that I can get a pickguard easy enough.....finding someone to part with a black TRC is another story! Rather than trade in mine I think I'll just paint it black and silver leaf the "Rickenbacker".
I already have the black screws Image
