4003 Truss Rod cavity

Post by gustavojuan »

Hi, I found a 1983 Jetglo 4003. This is the truss rod headstock cavity. Two lines cavity. It's real or is a Fake Rick. Never seen before. Thank you.

That sounds right, and the truss rod nuts are adjusted at the body end, if I recall correctly.

Does it have a split pickguard? IIRC, early 80's 4003's had the split PG to allow for easier access to the hairpin adjustment nuts at the body end. Mid 80's is when RIC changed to the new double-threaded truss rods accessible under the TRC.

Are the two channels you are seeing under the PG long and skinny? If so, those are common on basses with the hairpin rod.

Two skinny routes underneath the truss-rod cover is correct for early 4003 models. Illustrated on p. 63 of the book.

Yep, if they look like this, then it's the real thing...

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...
