My Solid Body White BH BT 370

Post by Matt Clark »

Well, after years of thinking about it and a final 5 months of the crafting happening by the fabulous Larry Davis, here is my white SOLID BODY 370WB BH BT that started it's life as a Fireglo 330.

Of the original guitar, the back of the neck and the head-stock remain. Larry extended the neck so it's now a neck-through and not a set-in neck. The pickups are original. The tuners are Grovers. Because it's originally a 330, it's got 24 now stainless frets. The bridge is a hipshot baby-grand. The faux tail piece is an ebony inlay which matches the finger board and the backstap on the back of the head stock. The front of the head-stock is bound however, what appears to be binding on the back is the ebony backstrap. It still carries the original jack plate with serial number (powder coated black) but it's a plugged hole as I had Larry move the working jack to the back of the guitar. It's now a strat style angle-in jack instead of an edge jack. The cat's eye is cut through the body preserving the look and was bound. This baby is a 9.9 pound beasty that I will have to start working out to wield. I can't wait to get her on the stage!

I've wanted this guitar since 1978 when I saw a white 370WB BH BT on RIC's ad poster.

Thanks to Larry for making my dream come true.

The only thing I didn't do was give it a stereo output as I never use them anyhow..

Watch those teeth, Marlin. I'm not sure we've properly sedated the beast . . .

Real classic style , congrats ! What I really like is that the pickguard edge runs perfectly parallel to the edge of the body. Perfect optical balance! :)
