Sure does look like what I used to load up on my first 4001 back in the late '70s!

Looks pretty authentic to me. Was the box not sealed?

Edit-upon closer inspection of your photo,i see that top string has been installed already.
The purple threads look correct,though.

They are used indeed. All of them. The box came with my '68. The previous owner doubted wheather they where original because '68 is a long time ago and someone could have put other strings in the box meanwhile.
