BARC 2016 -- Bay Area Rickenbacker Confluence
Bay Area Rickenbacker Confluence ----- August 2016
Its Summertime again ...... Just a preliminary notice that a few PMs have been exchanging amongst folks who enjoyed the BARC event last year..... checking on each other's availability and whose schedule's works out.
There might potentially be some interest in BARCing on Sunday afternoon, August 7th ---- but its still in the discussion stage. Or, who knows, it could be at a later date.
However, if anyone was maybe thinking about visiting the Bay Area around August, you might want to pencil it in on your own calendar, as a possibility. Time, date, location, etc. are still being considered ......
Any ideas or suggestions or RSVPs are welcome to post your comments !

For what it's worth, Sarah (Rickygirl) and I will be in downtown San Francisco from the late afternoon of Aug. 10th until the 13th when we move on. I realize a weekday is not prime time . . . but thought I'd throw it out there.

Hmmm . . . have never attended a confluence. Would a Texan be welcome ??

There is some messaging going back and forth, exploring the possibilities of rescheduling the potential BARC get together date to Sunday, Sep 18 instead of here in August, to fit with more people's schedules. It's still in the discussion phase.
Also, Doug F has been in contact with Guitar Showcase where last year's BARC event was held. Guitar Showcase feels that Sundays work best with their studio scheduling.
We will keep all interested BARCers advised as things become more clear .....

Good news, Doug F has confirmed that Guitar Showcase, in San Jose is agreeable to host our BARC event again. This was the same great event site as last year's BARC get-together.

Blergh. As a new Rick owner, I was hoping to attend the next Bay Area Confluence and meet some of you nice folks but that's the day I'll be attending my last Giants game of the season. I can't wait to see photos and I hope to attend my first confluence next year. Have a great time, everyone!

How many times have you seen the Giants this year vs. the number of times you've gone to BARC?billfark wrote:Blergh. Re: BARC 2016 -- Bay Area Rickenbacker Confluence
Ha, good point! That's about 10 to... zero.
Truth is, I may not even have my 360/12 back from the work being done on it by then (see my post in the guitar forum). They did send me a photo today of the fretboard refinish in progress, so at least I know we're getting there. I also don't expect to see any other lefties so I'd probably just be watching everyone else. I'm only slightly worse on a righty guitar than a lefty one!
I still might stop by to say hello if I can get from SF to SJ fairly quickly after the game. Hopefully the stars align for me next year in terms of actually attending the event to play a little.

Re: BARC 2016 -- Bay Area Rickenbacker Confluence
Don't be surprised. I have an open ticket airline ticket that I have to use before October 31. If I can get my schedule worked out, then I'll make the trek out there for BARC 2016.ballpark wrote: ... I also don't expect to see any other lefties so I'd probably just be watching everyone else. ...

You can add this Texan to the list of attendees for BARC 2016. Airline ticket has been issued and the hotel and rental car reservations have been made. Now the big questions is which lefty Ric should I bring. I'm leaning towards the 730S.donhank wrote:Hmmm . . . have never attended a confluence. Would a Texan be welcome ??
Paul W, do you have any tips on transporting one of your masterpieces on an airplane?
