The Beatles: Eight Days a Week -- The Touring Years
The Beatles: Eight Days a Week -- The Touring Years
New documentary produced by Ron Howard airing exclusively on Hulu, premiered on September 17. It's about two hours of some footage you've seen before and some you haven't. The focus is on the US tour which ended in Candlestick Park on August 29, 1966.
Well worth the watch if you've got access to Hulu. I'm only about halfway through it, but so far so good.

Just getting ready to see it tonight at an arts theater screening. I'm a fan!
we were warned…it was all out there
Re: The Beatles: Eight Days a Week -- The Touring Years
The theaters are also showing the newly restored 30 min. Shea 65 concert!
Re: The Beatles: Eight Days a Week -- The Touring Years
That's good, I'd heard it was the '66 concert.

I just finished watching it on Hulu and thoroughly enjoyed it! Lots of Ricks & a must-see for Beatles fans.

Agreed, plus the remastered '65 Shea concert was well produced and helps give focus to the rest of the movie. Ringo's rendition of Act Naturally totally cracked me up.Zaphod wrote:I just finished watching it on Hulu and thoroughly enjoyed it! Lots of Ricks & a must-see for Beatles fans.

It's a shame they're not going to include the Shea concert on the dvd though.

I thought all the new and restored concert footage was riveting, especially on a wide screen with surround sound! Quite simply the best music documentary I've ever seen!

I was so smitten with the movie that I went back and paid my $10.00 to see it a second time! Too bad it's not showing where you live. If you don't opt for Hulu, I suppose you can see the documentary (minus the restored Shea Stadium trailer) when it comes out on DVD. Nothing like the experience of seeing it in the theater, though.

Paul looks like such a poser in that stadium shot!

Yeah, what does he think he is anyway? Some kind of rock star?jps wrote:Paul looks like such a poser in that stadium shot!
