Flatwound recommendation for new 4003s.

Labella Deep Talkin' flats, they sound good on anything. They are a stiff string, great for finger plucking and low action, they're not exceptionally high tension the stiffness is from the build not the tension. I use their standard gauge, 45 through 105.

So what's a Faux Thousand?

Looks like that's Larry Davis' term for a counterfeit Rickenbacker. Sort of like "Rickenfaker" or "Fakenbacker." He's playing on the 4000 series designation. Faux Thousand instead of Four Thousand. I like it!
