Greetings from the UK,
After years of yearning I have finally taken the plunge and bought a 2000 Mapleglo 4003 left handed and i love it!
I thought my next step should be to join the forum as it appears to be a source of a wealth of information and a population of passionate , knowledgeable people.
I look forward to a long association with the forum, and of course the Ric !!
Regards
Lefty Steve

Hi Steve and welcome to the Forum - from another Lefty Steve! Same bass too (well almost, mine is a 2012).

Hope you have many years of enjoyment with your new Ric. The Forum is a great font of knowledge for everything Rickenbacker....and more!

Cheers! :D

She's a beauty. What's the neck like?

My JetGlo 4003 is a 2000 model also. Serial 0022863. Neck on mine is about halfway between baseball bat and slim. It is quite comfortable and fast though.

If it hasn't been done already, the best mod for these is an official push-pull Treble tone pot with the switchable capacitor. There are experts here who will kit you up. It doesn't affect the look, it is a no-mod mod but wow does it sound great!

Thanks once again everyone for the warm welcome, nice to see a couple more leftys Steve and Richard :D Hi Benjamin, the neck is not overly large (except compared to my Jazz!) and with regard to the push/pull capacitor mod, its definitely on the to do list to get the vintage sound , Squire etc, along with removal of the treble pickup cover and fitting a chrome bezel from Rickysounds in the uk. :D
