Rickenbacker.com forums not working?

Post by LanceManyon »

I can't access the company's website forums for days now. I get an sql error or some such computer gobbledygook. Anybody know anything?

This happens on occasion for whatever reason. I have contacted them in the past but as they are on holiday shutdown I figure they will notice this once they are back.

I posted as a new member, and it never showed up, apparently they hold every post for review prior to putting up on board? Strange.

Actually, they do! I got a PM from their moderator, they hold the first three posts from new subscribers to verify that you are not a bot or spammer. The moderator was polite and a little apologetic about the policy, I'm cool with it. He also said they had a "denial of service" attack that dropped the website for a few days, that's probably what people saw.

I was referring to the bolded part. Perhaps, they do for noobs with their first few posts (I don't recall its been so long for me), but I read this as they review every post prior to putting up on board.

I tried posting again today to accumulate three posts, website timed out. Maybe part of ongoing problems? Anybody else able to login and post on the Rickenbacker forum?

I posted a couple of times this morning and they are still there in my view. But I recall a few days ago there were some topics that went away, then they came back a few days later. Don't know if that is a problem on their end or a cache problem at this end.

Tried again this morning, page wouldn't even load, but it's back up as of now anyway. Oh how I loathe hackers and malware writers who get their jollies screwing up websites.
