So do you guys think RIC has a bunch of these ready to ship? Given their capacity issues, I guess not, but at the same time, you'd think it would make sense to capitalize on the announcement.

So I guess I have to decide, 4003 or 4004L?

I refer the color of the example over the bursts on Chapin's guitars. If it actually has that much blue coverage, I could see a 4004 or a 620/12 as possibilities, though I do wish we could still get black pickguards and nameplates stock.

I doubt there are many available yet in this finish, if any. The COY announcements seem to be about bringing in orders rather than starting to sell existing stock, but there may be some early birds.

Aw ****, it looks like I gotta get another 4003! As much as I love Midnight Blue, you can see the grain on the Blue Burst. Personally, I kinda like the 360 image on the website than the ones that Mary Chapin-Carpenter has, but that's just me. I think that I'm gonna place my order tomorrow, but if I do, I think that I have to "eliminate" one of my 4003's. Decisions, decisions...

Hey Vito, get one of each!

I also like the 360 image better. I'll be waiting for production photos to see what Ric is really doing, unless JH indicates which look is the one they are going with first.

The actual item in the pictures with Mary Chapin Carpenter look washed out in the middle. I hope it is more like the 360.

Could you imagine what a 4001c64 would look in BBR? (Drooling sound follows)

You know, I just thought about it, and Mr. Hall could elaborate further on it at a later time, but as far as I could see, I think BBR is actually translucent blue, just sprayed (or applied) differently. Either way, it's a great finish, and will look great on every Ric guitar and bass.

I like the electric MCC has a little better but it also has real nice grain, I like the color a lot. I think it's a winner.

I'm in for a 370-6 or a 620. I waited for this one since I saw the pix of MCC's on these sites a few years ago. Thanks again Ric.

I remember seeing the new prs 12-string in "whale blue" in GP; I wonder if that had anything to do with the choice. I know anyway that many here lobbied for it for a long time.

thanks !!!

I don't think we will see any of the C series in Blueburst. I tried several times to get either a Blue Boy or a Montezuma Brown C64 through several dealers and they all were turned down when they called to inquire about ordering one.

I'm with you Coop! I hope the shading is more like the 350 than MCC's

I sent an email to the man himself asking some of the questions that appear on this thread. I think it will shed some light:

> 2) I like the new Blueburst. Nice choice. Is is possible
> to special order a 4001C64 in Blueburst?

No, sorry. That series is limited to MG, FG, and.

> 3) Is the Blueburst color going to be more like the 360
> pictured on the Rickenbacker website(faded) or the Mary
> Chapin Carpenter guitars(more like Fireglo)?

It's just like a Fireglo, except blue. The shading does continue into
the
middle a bit more than Fireglo as it looks better that way. The blue is
fairly electric, i.e. intense. Each of MCC's blue guitars is slightly
different- the Blueburst as we're doing now is most similar to her
acoustic
12-stringer.

Cheers,

John Hall
