The walnut construction would make it nearly a pound lighter, which is always a good thing....for me anywaycheyenne wrote:So....its a walnut 4003s with special paint?

Since we are talking about maple fretboards I must admit I like the sound of my "normal" and Shadow Rickenbacker's better than the sound of my Blackstar. I think I remember that the official word is there are no differences in sound, but I can hear it and there was a test in the German G&B magazine which also stated a difference in sound between the walnutted maple boarded Rickenbacker and the normal Rickenbacker.

Where? It is not only me who thinks my matte grey/BT/BH 4003 with ebony board was an inspiration for the Noire, but I did not get a Noire.squirebass wrote:Boy, RRF Consultants get ALL the breaks!

Well I'll bet those chrome 4004 knobs add about half a pound to the bass! Have you ever picked up four of these at once?!woodyng wrote:The linked one at Sweetwater is 8 pounds 10 ounces.

I didn't even know about these basses until I saw a link to it on another forum, yesterday.

Ten were made for Sweetwater. I've got a shot of one from RIC, but hope to get a pic from Sweetwater that's better.

Is "Jetglo Pearl" the only finish available for this bass? How can it be a JPS limited Edition if it isn't offered in every finish "between the B&W"?
