4004 Larado question

Post by cheyenne »

If I was to order a 4004 Larado in Mapleglo, would it come with walnut wings on the headpiece like its sister the Cheyenne?

If not, could it be ordered that way?

I wouldnt think it would be much of a problem.

Just wondering,,,,,,,

The answer is no, since Ric has stopped using walnut wings on the 4004s. All the new 4004s have maple wings. The only basses with walnut are the v64s.

Yeah, I thought they went back to the wings on the newer models. Andy O' has a trans red like mine, his has wings, and I think POR's just sold a green one with wings.

Hence my question.

Scott, doesn't your trans red 4004 have maple wings?
I like the way those flamed maple wings look on yours.
If my trans red 4004/5Cii comes with walnut wings that would be cool, but if it has flamed maple wings like yours has I wouldn't be disappointed at all.

Hmm, I could be mistaken, but the last time we were discussing this JH said they weren't doing walnut anymore due to splitting issues. They even photoshopped the image on the Ric site to get rid of the walnut wings.

I'm pretty certain that Ls are all maple.

I recently bought the trans green Cii from POR. It has walnut wings like the pic that Henny posted.

I'm curious to see how a 4004L would look in BBR.

Hey Mark - where'd that pic come from Image

Scott - I did see a 4004L with WN wings but you never know what RIC is going to do with these basses.

Jeff- Me and I think a few other people were all over JH to change back to the WN wings and they did. JH in an e-mail to me awhile back said something like - when guys like you want this what am I to do... I thought that was really cool of him!
