The guy nextdoor has a reputation for being a noisy b*stard, cocky - and just downright rude.
Being the kind guy I am I decided on giving him a good hour to finish off his film, (i'm no killjoy.)
But it wasn't to be, it approached 3am, and still he had no intention of shutting up.
I went round and banged on his door - he completely ignored me. I did it again - louder... stil, he ignored me.
I'd reached the end of my tether. I went back to my room and I wired up one of my Marshall Super Bass 100s with an Ashdownn 1x15 and an Ashdown 4x8.
I positioned the cabs wall-facing, with approximately 1cm clearance between the front face of the cab and the bare brickwork of the wall...
... I hit everything to full...
...I picked up my trusty 4001 and proceeded to play YYZ from start to finish, again and again and again, I had earplugs in.
The EQ was massively, massively high on my old SVT preamp, so every struck string, every fret transit sounded like nails in a blender - Ric style.
Within 20 seconds the guy's door flung open and he dived out of his room, fingers in ears - going "Arghhhh!"
I went ahead and warned him that I'd do it again, on the hour, every hour if he didn't change his ways.
I've not heard a peep since.
Fight fire with fire? Try it. Sometimes it works. With help from a Ric.
Now I'm going to bed.
