Our good friend Mr Rath has diagnosed me with the early stages of 5-string affliction.

I had a chance to play a Active 5-Jazz over the weekend, and although the thing wieghed a ton, and had a neck like a picnic table the extra string was a very pleasant surprise !!!!

The finish on that NAMM Cii5 looks lovely.

The CII (and 5 AFAIK) has been available in standard Ric finishes for a long time - I was inquiring about a MB CII/5 in 2003 and was told I could order it. The website is often a bit (or a lot) behind the times as far as options go.
