Forumites,
Can anyone tell me the size of the Allen wrench that is needed to adjust string height on the 1st generation 4004 bridges?
This is for a 2008 4004 Cii, and I believe the manufacturer was ABM, a German company. My owners manual indicates that the supplied wrench was a metric wrench, but I don't see any mention of the size. It is a little bit smaller than the wrench used on the traditional 4001/4003 bridge.
I was unable to find any information on this discontinued bridge at the ABM website.
Sincere thanks,
bluewhale

If its a metric wrench, you could try using a ruler to measure the distance of the gaps. If there is a Harbor Freight near you, you could buy their set of Metric wrenches for $2 and see if one fits.

I think the 4001 uses a 1/16" Allen wrench (been so long since I had to adjust mine, my memory is a bit vague on this).
1/16" = 1.5875 mm, so "a little bit smaller" might mean 1.5 mm.

Turn on, tune up, rock out!

It probably is 1.5 mm. I'll try to find one of those or a set that includes 1.5 mm.
Thanks to you both.

FWIW, I can confirm that my 2005 4004Cii takes a 1.5mm hex.
