It is the real deal. Remember the Ebay auction for an azureglo with screws holding the fingerboard on at the first fret? This is it's treble pickup. The seller is a nice guy. I just bought the jack plate for the same bass from him. I am hoping to get the body at some point when he is ready to sell that too. He offered me the pickup but I was not interested just yet. It is a cool screw top transition pickup like the one I bought from Jeff Rath a few months ago.
Yes, that magnet should be still okay.
Actually those transitional high-gain pickups are great-sounding and quite hot, provided you remove the bass-choke (= treble-pass capacitor) from the circuit. For those (like me) who prefer to leave it on, a much hotter pickup is required if decent output is to be achieved.
