Chord Changes - Middle 8 of "I Need You" ??

Post by mikestop »

I've misplaced my copy of HELP. I was messing around with "I Need You" just from memory. I'm hung up on the chord changes in the middle 8. The part that starts with -"Oh yes you told me". I've got the changes D - E - A - D - E. Then I'm not sure if I'm hearing a Bm or B7 to an E or E7. Any help???

Mike:That chord progression is Bm to B7 to A. The film actually shows that progression in the performance of that song. I would like to know the augmented chord he uses after "A" at "Love you all the time and never leave you".

Just wondering...

Anyone see Tom Petty perform this on Concert For George? He uses a capo on the first fret for it. It really sounds good with the capo...

Thanks Mark. I think the chord your looking for is an A7 second fret with just the open G as the 7th.

Found my recording it's -

B7
Just can't go
Bm
on any
E
more

George sings the 7th on the E chord. Doesn't seem like the 7th is actually played.
