I got a 660 last year and a 480XC this month. Those 2 are all I need. They are my "keepers." Especially that 480! The "XC" is SEXY.

And I still have an old Combo 800 as my "museum" piece.

I've had a couple through the years, but I'm down to just 2 Ricks at the moment. My '69 4001 and a customized V63. I really love the '69 and it's as close to the "one" as I've had. The V63 just isn't doing it for me and will probably be going down the road at some point.
Honestly, I just don't play bass anymore and really prefer to play acoustic.

I've still got 3 Rickenbackers, and one copy I made for myself. I've sold two RICs in my lifetime.

Still have:
BBR 350V63 with toasters
BBR 330/12 with toasters
1989 230 - my first guitar, originally red, but black over the top when I got it used. Refinished in Blue Boy in 2007. Will never sell.

Sold:
1973 4001 fireglo, high gains
BBR 360/6 - had high gains, needed money for school. I'll get another 360 some day.

Copy:
A copy I made for myself of my former 4001 before I sold it. I made this one with no binding, walnut wings, and a different style truss rod to make it different from anything RIC ever made. It plays and sounds very nice and plays much better than my 73 ever did. I'll never sell it.

My first Rick was a TP Ltd Edition new in 1991. Silly me sold it in 2016 for double what I paid. It would be 4X the original price now or even more. I then bought a new 330/12 Walnut but couldn't get on with the neck width and traded it in for a 12 string Taylor acoustic. I then bought a new old 330/6 but for ever what reason the neck just seemed to get sticky however much I cleaned it so again traded it in. My keepers are a 360/6 Walnut I bought from a dealer in Italy as new last year but it was made in 2015, a 660/6 MG I bought second hand in excellent condition (my favourite) and a 2018 660/12 MG which I bought new in 2019. I will not sell any of them, I love them all and don't believe all that tosh about the 660/12 not sounding right. They are great.

I keep my 4003.
I paid $1550 NEW in 2016 for the 4003, iirc.
It’s my first n only Ric.
The only other Ric I would ever buy would be a 4004 or a Ric short scale.
But prices are crazy high right now so I just hang on to the 4003.

At one point in 2004 or so I had an MG 330 and a Monty Brown 660/12. Ended up going a completely different direction and sold both to fund non-guitar music purchases.

I picked up a 360 MG in 2012 and will never, ever sell it. It's my therapy, even though I gig out with other things (Irish traditional music on flute and uilleann pipes.) I also have a 4004 MG that I like but isn't my soul mate. I need a tech to check some of the electronics because I think some of the soldering has gone bad. It's a beautiful instrument though.

Coming back to the forum because I am jonesing for a wide-neck 12 string again. I can't believe I sold that 660/12. I am a much better player now and would appreciate it more.
