I loved mine. I don't see myself owning another though. For me, its value is not in its rarity but its function, and while it was ahead of its time, that was a long time ago, and that function could be better achieved with modern tools.

Yeah, I loved the fingerboards on the few I played, back in the day, felt so rich and classy!
Does anyone know if the checker binding was sprayed on????

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Re: WTB Rickenbacker 4002
How does the 4002 pickup placement compare to the 4003W? Not that they'd necessarily sound the same, anyway, as the pickups are different and the electronics are, too, but I wonder.

I was going to say the same thing.
The JETGLO finish name should be officially changed to JETGLO ROCKS!

I had the pleasure of gigging with one a while back (just pre-pandemic). It's not mine. Owned by special friends that wanted to see it gigged. It's the best sounding bass guitar ever IMHO. Clear and articulate, without sounding sterile and fake.

Quite different. More like a Jazz Bass. And the XLR (treble pickup only) has its own wonderful sound, going directly to the jack, not through any pots.
