Polishing out swirls & scratches on black 330?

Post by Scarry67 »

I tried T-cut to buff out swirls and dulled 1996 jet glo finish but it made it worse with more obvious circular swirls where I applied it to the top. Any suggestions on best way to restore glossy shine?

At Paul W’s recommendation, I have been using Meguiar's Swirl-X, or Nu Finish Scratch Doctor, followed up with Zymol wax.

I had a couple of older ricks with clearcoat haze similar to what you described the above worked.
There is no reason to ever be bored.

...why yes, I suppose I do have a double bound guitar fetish...

"Uh, I like the double bounds. . . ."

Thanks for tip. Swirl X not easy to find in UK. Did they Meguiars change name to “Swirl remover” I wonder?

Yes, Swirl X is a type of swirl remover. This is the stuff I use on guitars.

That stuff is readily available. Good. I tried again with T- cut but used cotton wool buds, gently, and had rather more success than with a cloth.
