Yeah I'd like to hear it. By funny do you mean the small ones? I have a 72 with the small one and Grovers and had a 75 with the same head with Grovers and 1/2" spacing, no checkboard, had the old style TRC, I think it might have been a left over body from 73 as it had two high gains.

Actually, Jim, I am working on that very issue. I had a '73 which was MJ and it had no old features (and very cloudy, yellowish inlays). Someone else posted here about a '73 which had checkered binding and was a MI and another which had MOP and was a month or so earlier. So I think mine was one of the first months with the "new features". But there is no official cutoff date, I am looking for an MJ with old features just to prove the theory wrong.
