George Harrison's Second 360/12

Post by marcthemusician »

Hello everyone.

Geroge Harrison was moving away from the use of 12 strings by the Rubber Soul record, but he still managed to utilize one on stage for the necessary tunes, and of course for If I Needed SomeoneI from the aforementioned Rubber Soul. His second 360/12 was stolen (by most accounts) but it's always been my most favorite; indeed, the main reason for me buying my 360/12CW was that it was closer to spec to the vintage ones (I do love Carl Wilson, but he's never been my favorite guitarist). I was hoping to see who else loves George's second 360/12, and also see about doing some amateur sleuthing about the location of his guitar!

Here's a few pics I found on the internets:

A standard "new style" 360/12 is indeed a beautiful thing. I wouldn't mind having one myself.

Believe me when I say the sleuthing about this guitar is beyond amateur. The difficult investigations from many have all led to dead ends, to my knowledge.

Paul from the Guitar Gear Connection YT channel had a recent video which included an article from Billboard that said he gave it to Maurice Gibb for his 21st birthday in 1970. Just looked for it but it's not there anymore, but there's mention of it here.
