Kind of like, I rarely glance down at my speedometer when driving, it's really only relevant to someone else as to how fast I am going!

I didn't realize someone was keeping track of post-counts. I know I don't. I recall that one time Gil even reset mine to 0, as, to me they only mean something to others.

Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Re: Chris Squires RM DC172
Actually, when I look at my post count, it's only about 1 / day on average.
That tells me I'm not applying myself and should be here much more often!
Enough of that.
I'm all ears and ready to learn.

I appreciate and respect Peter McCormack's suggestion to reset. Thats my position. I will let others decide where they go from here.

And, to quote Kevin, I'm all ears as well and looking forward to hearing your stories and perspectives Vincent

Anyway, back to the topic.
Did Chris replace the tailpiece or have it re-plated?
Photos from the 70s show it missing quite a lot of the chrome finish and in later photos (if its the same tailpiece)
the chrome looks intact.

Zombie thread revival!vincent_gallo wrote: Fri Apr 17, 2020 6:57 pm I know a lot about the history of Chris's bass. I played it many times and can describe it well and repeat many of Chris's funny stories. I also know where the original bobbin is. Too bad everything I say offends Pete or Paul or Jeffrey or Tony or Rich or Kevin. So better I let you guys sort it out
Haven't been on here in years but whilst researching further on the horseshoe of Chris' bass, this page came up! Lo, and behold! I see Vincent Gallo setting a fox in the 'Waffen chickencoop about the original bobbin, etc. Magical! There's a song in there, somewhere.
Post a photo of the JK 4000, Vincent, if you would. Love to see it, if you still have it.

Wow Vincent, 90 vintage Rick basses. I bet you have some real nice ones. I sure would like to see some pics.
You know, I'm retiring in the next few weeks, it really makes you wonder where all the time went., not to ramble here, but life is so short. I'm not sure what the hurt was here, but I wish it could be put behind us, and you could see fit to share your collection with the forum.

IIRC, it came to a head when an ad that I had to sell my '67 4001S went off the rails. Pretty sure it got deleted.cheyenne wrote: Fri Jul 18, 2025 2:00 pm Wow Vincent, 90 vintage Rick basses. I bet you have some real nice ones. I sure would like to see some pics.

Teeder, you told me that you'd taken your '67 RM 1999 and thrown it out in the trash!
