New 4030S (!?)

Post by CatHead »

Ric posted this pic - had no idea these were coming and so soon!

I was very interested until I spoke to my music dealership friend - quoted UK RRP for one of these is £3499 which is absolutely insane for an S version bass... completely put me off buying one, and I was REALLY interested in potentially the green one or owning my first Walnut Ric.

I wish I could get along with SS basses, but at 6'4 275 lbs., they just feel odd, and look downright cartoonish on me. :|

Nice looking, I do prefer black plastic though.

LOL! I know the feeling, 6'4" and 220 lbs. I've actually had people think my 4001/4003 basses are short scale!

I have to say, that walnut one has beautiful grain...

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

No thanks.
That huge TP looks odd in the middle of the body.

Proportions look all wrong.

Two toasters right in the middle there, what do they sound like? I would guess they might be more mid-rangy, perhaps?

I like them better than the C series basses, I just could never wrap my head around the reversed headstock, you shouldn't mess with what Roger Rossmiesl wrought!

No sign of any of them around here yet, but Dallas Guitar Show(or is it Arlington?) is only a week or so away, maybe I will get a chance to play one there!
