I finally spoke to the guy today. my friend who hooked this up says he may be a little leary of me and not tell me about all the basses at first.
Anyway, our conversation was short and he claims he'll call me back tonight or tomorrow. The only things he mentioned for sale were a P-Bass and a Ric, which he described as rare, loud and with low action. Sounds like a v63 to me.
Will fill in when I know more.

" It's not where you are, it's who you're with.".
I spoke to him again today. The only one he seems to want to part with is a Cherry Red 4003 from 1996. He claims the bass is set up unbelievable and that the pickups are extremely loud.
As far as the personal collection, he does have the goods. Four yes, FOUR! v63's that he refers to as his babys. Two 8 stringers and a Squire
model.
I will meet with him next week to check out what he wants to sell. I'm sure you guys don't mind if I get first dibs and then turn him on to you guys. BTW, he seems like a very nice and genuine fellow who loves Rickenbackers. Just like some of us here;>)
