Agreed.

Just bought a '98 330/12 from Pick of the Ricks. Excellent service. Great atmosphere in the store (absolutely NO sleazy music store BS... you know what I'm talking about). Chris is very knowledgeable about Ricks and doesn't mind sharing that information.

Pick of the Ricks: Highly Recommended

Another good place is Ruggieros Guitar shop in Philly. If you don't mind going into DOWNTOWN Philly, you are in for an expert repair job and pretty quick turnaround. He took my '99 360/12MG that had been sitting around with a broken truss rod for who knows how long...neck was REALLY warped and twisted....and he made it perfect again!! It's been about 3 months ago since the repair and so far it's stayed in perfect tune!! I highly recommend RUGGIERO'S....

Brad (Bamta) and I ordered our 4004Cii5 basses from Pick Of The Ricks. I also think Chris Clayton is a great guy to deal with. I also highly recommend doing business with him.

I got great news from Chris today...

He told me that the 381/12v69 in Montezuma Brown was already sold.

Now I don't have to worry about shelling out for another RIC twelve string... ;-)

Gary: LOL. I have to say I was really taken by the Montezuma Brown finish on that 381/12V69.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Yeah he was willing to work with me to sort out several deals.

Been buying for about 4 years now. Before he was a brick & motar dealer.

Adding to this really old thread so see if anyone can recommend a luthier/tech to work on a Rickenbacker bass in New Jersey? Since Pick of the Ricks closed, I don't know who to trust. My 4001CS has a low G at the third fret causing buzzes. Whoever had it over the years must have had a heavy left hand. Also, the lamination around the frets has lifted and cracked over time. I need someone who knows. Willing to go to Philly or Delaware if needed.

How about RetroFret up in Brooklyn? They've done great work for me.
