Toaster 'vs' high gain pickup question

Post by scottpro1969 »

I ordered a toaster pickup from POTR with the thought of replacing the high gain in my new 4003 Monty Brown. I'm wondering what tonal differences to expect. I wish I had one of each to play to get an idea. I play a lot of Beatles/Wings stuff. Is it worth doing?? I also put Pyramid flats on. Love the look of the toaster too!!!

The high-gain is fatter and louder sounding.

this is a bass by bass thing ... some basses sound better with the toaster ... it has to do with your playing style, the other pickup, the wood, the year, etc ... if you have a few ric basses then you should try this on one ...
