Bob, It's a pretty accurate Sea Green done by Mike Dolan in California. The paleness comes from the camera flash.

As far as the pickguard, these things happen. Dane was nice enough to make a replacement for me as well as the thumbrest. Ends up being more of the look I wanted anyway.

It's nice, I like the checkerboard binding with the green. I thought it might have been the flash.

The checkered binding with the green looks fantastic!

That is beautiful! I love the checkerboard binding. Even that neck pickup looks great. There isn't a thing not to like about that guitar! Did you get it refinished or is that stock? The reason I ask is I'd like to know who you guys would suggest and what the approx. price would be. If I can figure out how to shrink a picture, I'll post a pic of mine. It's not as sharp as this one.

Refin was done by a guy named Mike Dolan out of California. I believe it ran $350 which IMO is pretty good. The turnaround time is 4-6 weeks.

Actually, I think that's a great price also! I custom paint cars for a living and that starts at about 7000.00 around here. Does it hurt the value of the guitar? I have a 75-4001. It has 1 nick in the neck, 1 nick by the bridge straploc and a couple long thin cracks in the finish, on the back of the guitar. The front looks mint. I'm lucky there is no buckle rash. Also, what makes the finish crack like that? When I bought this bass in 85, it had these cracks. Is it just changes in ambient temp. and moisture? I've taken great care to keep it from getting any worse, but like I said, it doesn't come close to the beauty of yours.

Marc, your bass looks like it came right out of the late 50's!! What a great job Dolan did! He'll most likely get any refin work I have planned....

Marc, How can I get in touch with Dolan? I'd like to see how much he'd charge to do this refinish? Actually, I'd like to change the color. Would I get my head chopped off for that around here?

That is a cool colour combo for sure. I love the look of an ebony board, especially with that green. A great colour...imo....Image

Thanks jaymi, I know that the burgandyglo is a popular color around here, but just about every guitar I own is black. I'd love to switch it to jetglo.
Mike, thank you also for the info. My Rick thanks you, she needs a facelift. If I can figure out how to shrink a photo, I'll try to post it. I have to show Marc just how butiful his really is.
