V63 alert on ebay.

Post by apollo11 »

Not listed as a V63, so it may go cheap. Starting bid is $850, no reserve.
I have a hunch this will be one where somebody tries to nab it in an off-ebay sale with a low offer, as it doesn't appear the seller knows what he has.

I don't know....if you are starting an Ebay store shouldn't you have a camera that takes decent pics. I'm always apprehensive with vague description auctions also. I may be a overly cautious but I'd stay clear of this one without further investigating.

Here we go again with the skeptics. He's been around for over two years with 100% feedback on 18 transactions. I for one am engaged and will make a play. This is the kind of mis-represented auction that can result in a good score. The only reason it's not on its way here already is the lack of a decent BIN. Whatever we do, don't e-mail and correct the guy so he pulls or changes the auction in the name of "correctness". I always say damn when the good deals get discussed here - as if I'm the only one looking! Good luck to all.

I'm not saying the guy/gal isn't legit. I just don't like auctions for big ticket items with a sighting of bigfoot type picture and almost no description. All I was saying is that I'd try to get some better pics and at least a serial number before proceeding. It's not my money so have at it....

I wish it were your money and still be my bass - LOL.

About two years ago I think, there was a nice early fireglo 4001 with checked binding and all the candy with a BIN $499 that I missed by minutes. It went so fast that I would have missed it if I weren't searching completed items to check prices. Even before my involvment here I knew this was a never again deal. From then on, I watch the 'bay often, but I ain't no Chris Pappas that's for sure. I always seem to just miss them.

It may become academic anyhow. With 9 days to go, the feeding (bidding) frenzy has begun. My guess is it will go higher than I can stomach.

I kind of agree with Brian. It seems if your are starting an EBay store you would at least have a decent camera. That in it's own made me a little suspious. I email the guy twice about s/n, and asked if he would end the auction early. No response. The frenzy has already started.

Gee, if this is one of his "miscellaneous items", I wonder what other junk he has cluttering up the place!

I always love the guy who puts up a $1,500 bass and can't drop a hundred on a digital camera. "Sorry about the pictures, I took them with my camera phone in the dark." It's just good marketing to make it look as nice as possible.

Unless he has something to hide.

They do look like camera-phone pictures!
