I'm putting the bridge pickup through a Fender BXR100, which is a 100 watt combo with a 15 inch speaker. The neck pickup is going to an Ampeg BA210sp, which is a 210 watt 2x10. Both are combos. I'll reverse them to check the differences, but the Ampeg can really push the smooth bass tones, hence the 100 watt Fender to the treble side.

Once I fix the wiring on my bass, I'll be sending the neck pickup to an Ampeg SVT and the bridge pickup to a Sunn 2000S ala Geddy Lee. Should sound great.

Two SVT's, I'll set them up tomorrow on my porch.

When I used to run stereo I ran both into the two channels of an SVT, treble into the main channel, it sounded great but I could never get enough bottom out of the other channel. The treble pickup is really punchy by itself through an SVT.

Bridge p/u through a Line 6 guitar pod (rackmount) simply set to 'tube preamp' & powered by an old Peavey 100w power amp into a Fender BXR 4x10 cab. All my effects go through this channel.

Neck p/u through a Yorkville XS400 into the matching Yorkie XC115 cab pure & clean...

OK I set them up side by side, two identical late 70's SVT's with the original 8 X 10 cabs, one per head. Obviously this is not like a live club try out (that will come later). I used my 78 Ric 4001 with stock Ric RW's on it after using my 2000 4003 with Pyramid flats. The one with RW's had a much more separated sound as you would expect. I set the bass pickup amp very deep and the treble pickup amp full range with treble wide open. It sounded good and this was not a fair tryout as it was in my house, but.... I then ran a cable from the preamp out on one head to the power amp in on the other head and used the mono jack on the bass with a mono cord so I had both systems working but only using one preamp (one preamp controls both heads). That sounded the best and the most powerful. I think Ric-O-sound is nice if you want to run effects like fuzz and still have clean bottom out of one amp. But by itself there really is no need for it and with two amps you actually get a much more powerful and full sound with both amps running mono. With the two SVT's mono you could knock a wall over with bottom and at the same time get the very clear Ric growl. For rock that is the ultimate set up IMHO.
