I used to be able to play fingerstyle on my 4003s5, and pretty fast and clean, too... I hear recordings from way back and wonder how in the h*ll I did that. I'm totally spoiled on my wide spacing Carvin (3" at the 24th fret), now. I can't even play the Rick anymore (which is why it's for sale... hint hint).

Try muting with the free fingers of your fretting hand. It's much more effective than muting with the picking hand, especially if you're picking behind the 'shoe.

It also helps to anchor your picking hand on the bridge/tailpiece or on the 'shoes. (Watch out for those mute adjustment screws!)

Uhm $2K for a Jetglo S5 in excellent condition! Wonder what this like new JG BT S5 would go for?

I can't wait....I have my heart set on a 5 string Jetglo but I'm sure I'll somehow suffer through with this one while I wait.
