Now there's a pretty herd. Particularly that beautiful FG 330. Is the Korg unit their REMS modeling technology?

Howard:

RE: That cable thing. There's a RS down the block here and apparently it's a relatively new product, 'cause last year, nada.

Sometimes, you just don't want to go to RS. Years ago they had everything. Now the hardware is relegated to a small cabinet at the back of the store and the rest is low-buck radio control and cell phone accessories...at least here in the USA. So I got out of the habit.

They DO stock replacement knobs that are the same as both Rick vintage knobs and newer Ricks with the aluminum insert. The inserts on these have no lettering, though.

Now I can be ethical again!

Dean:

Yes it does use REMS and it's brilliant! The only criticisms that I could level at it are the distance between the buttons (but if I wear the crocodile skin chisel-toes it's OK!) and the pedal doesn't have quite as much range as some (I believe there's quite a simple mod to sort this out). It tried the Boss ME50 & GT6, Digitech RP300 and Zoom GFX-4 and the Korg was the most impressive and flexible (to me anyway). It was also about the cheapest! You can get some interesting stuff when you combine this and the effects in the Roland Cube 60 I muck around with.

Paul:

I didn't word that quite right! I got the cable at Dick Smith Powerhouse, which is like a Radio Shack (which is Tandy in Australia). I don't go there because most of their product is just that: RS ('rat s**t!!').

Cheers
