I own a 3001 & LOVE IT. I'm still partial to my 4003 though. (I also own a 4001 too.) The 3001 is a sleeper man, great big monster tone. Enough of the Rick clank, but with an added "P-Bass on crack" quality as well. Big heavy tanks, but they play so nice. Love the neck & that wacky single pickup. Got mine for $350 at a flea market in '94 or so.
My personal opinion is that they're not as pretty as the 4000 series, kind of an acquired taste.
There's a few guys on the forum here who have an affinity for the 3000 series, but you're not gonna convert many of the others!

I am glad that those basses seem to be getting some much due respect recently.

Oh & by the way, hello Darren & welcome!

Darren....we refer to the 'F' word as F***** around here. Well, at least most of us do!
'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.

Darren, personally I have absolutely no problem with you referring to Fenders without the asterisks. Like you said, to each their own. I have three vintage Fenders that I like a lot. It's just that I like Rics better...

By the way, a Noel Redding Signature will be numbered, have Noel's signature in gold permanent marker on the pickguard - a much darker brown pickguard; be 3-tone sunburst (yours is Sienna burst), and definitely will not have a Foto Flame top.

I hope you find a nice 3001! Oh, and welcome.

Hello, thanks again for the welcomes!
Now that Ilan has corrected my knowledge of my guitar i feel like i've lived a lie for all these years, i was told it was just an unsigned one.
What do you think that this F***** or Fender jazz can be sold for, please take into consideration prices for guitars over here?

Fender Jazz Basses are brilliant.

That's a nice Japanese example you have, Darren.

Just don't say Mexican Fender without asteriks. Image

I also own a 3001, and I love the sound. Lately though, it has taken a bit of a back seat to my new 4004Cii. It has a little more tonal versatility, and it's much lighter. But I won't part with my 3001.
