New 660 Montezuma Brown
Just purchased my second Ric, A 660 in Motezuma Brown, another discontinued color. My question is this, Being this is not from the vintage series, why would Rickenbacker design this model with vintage pups, tuners, tailpiece, checkered binding, etc and not call it a vintage reissue?

Because there is no guitar from the past with exactly these features. . . so it would be a reissue of . . . . what, exactly?
Yes, it definitely does have a vintage feel, but it also has a modern neck. (For a 12-string, that is.)

Welcome Larry and good question. In addition to John's comment, this instrument certainly has a Tom Petty vibe with these deluxe features that may appeal to some. It is certainly not hard on the eyes! I am partial to Montezuma Brown.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

What a beauty. And they sure sound sweet. Another point I like about my FG 660/12... there are just not a lot of them around here. It is great to have a fabulous sound that no-one else in your region has.
Nice guitar. Enjoy!

Never, ever drool on your surf shirt. It wrecks the solo.

John, you have had so many "suggestions," you could start whole new Ric Division.
However, I can't resist.
First, Paul: YES!!!
Second: A triple PU 660.
Third: 660 style, all vingtage appointments with standard size neck, 6-string only, w/optional accent. Sweet.
One of our band members ('64) had one that looked exactly like I just described, I have a picture of him holding it. It was the most beautiful guitar I had ever seen at the time; Fireglo, full markers, 2-PUs (not 3), vibrato, cresting wave, a neck to die for, and I want to say checkered binding but I could be wrong. He played it through a piggy back blonde Fender Tremolux. What a combination.
