What amps.........?

As a newbie, I'm sure this is a typical post. But I gotta ask. What type amps do alot of folks use with their Ricks?
I know it depends alot on what kind of stuff you play; myself, I play alot of Southern Rock, blues and Classic Rock, Bad Co, Mellencamp, Allmans, MTB, Van Morrison etc.

I may get creamed for saying this, but I use a Marshall TSL 60 head and 1936 2x12 cab. Man, does it wake my Ricks up!

Just wondering what other folks use in terms of amplification.

I use (heresy alert) a Line 6 Pod Pro at home and (usually) a Line 6 Spider 1x12 when gigging. Why? Because they're flexible, and the 1x12 fits the bill for a small, lightweight, loud, good sounding amp. I can dial in a sound that's appropriate to the music I play, and I daresay that nobody in the crowd (or on stage) cares that it's not a real (insert esoteric brand name here).

As the ultimate insult, I used the Fender Tweed setting (Twang on the Spider) model in a (fairly successful) attempt to make it sound like a Pignose.

Hiwatt SA112 50 Watt Combo. It's incredibly loud.

If anyone thinks that a VOX AC30 with Celestion Blue speakers sounds good with a Ric... than they're right. BUT...try out a Dr. Z (www.drzamps.com) and you might think that the VOX doesn't sound the best!

I'm finishing up recording an album and most of the guitar was done with a Ric and a Dr. Z. Absolutely amazing!

I'm a Line 6 Spider 112 user too. So much sound from such a small, lightweight, cheap amp!

Supplements my Fender chocolate brown Pro 15, circa 1960.

Wanna get an AC30--tan. North Coast. Gorgeous.

I use a handwired blackface Fender Twin (it started as a '73 silverface twin, but that's a long wacky story) with Weber alnico "California" speakers.

My 4001 does sound sweet thru my 60's Ampeg B15 and thru the 60's Vox T60!

My main amp is a Roland JC120 Jazz Chorus.
Once you have all that clean headroom, you finally appreciate (and hear) the tremedous depth of sound that Rics have.

I also have a Vox mini stack and a Fender 1X12.

Same school as Ron, 60's Ampeg B-25 into a 4x12, makes my v63 and 4003 sound fantastic.

Custom Ricky fretted, fretless and 5-string 3000's into Ampeg B4R amp ->Boss GT-6B run in stereo-> 2 custom 2x12 Thiel cabs(w/EV and Carvin speakers). Very BIG sound with lots of bottom end and great definition. My practice setup is an Ampeg PortaBass 250 into one of the above cabs.

All my guitars sound great through my Kustom Quad 200HD ran through a Fender 4/12 cab,and a Line 6 Flextone,but soon there will be a Fender Blues DeVille.I use those for shows,but the best sounding amp I have is a 1970 Traynor YGL3 Mark3 100watt tube amp,all hand wired and sounds MAGNIFICENT!
