Blueburst picture

Post by simondohertyuk »

Let's get some more Blueburst pic's up on this site. I want to order one but not without seeing a few more pictures first. Who can help?

A bass foumite just bought the 4003 from Chris at POTR. His pictures are really good. Long thread about it in the appropriate forum.

I have to say, from what I;ve seen it's the nicest COY since Burgundy.

From what I understand there's only been one BBR delivered, to the forumite who posted in the bass section. He got the 4003 that was displayed at NAMM.

Thank you, John!

There is a size limitation for posts to this forum, both for resolution and actual picture file size. By the time you shrink the original photo down to meet the limits, the picture quality is definitely degraded.

I'm working on getting some better pictures, and then to get them posted in a forum that allows for higher resolution, whether it be something special Peter creates here, or over on Mike Parks web site.

As more people get their instruments, you will definitely start seeing more pictures! While it looks nice on the 4003, I can only imagine that it will be even better on a guitar or a 4004 Series bass where there are fewer 'interruptions' on the face of the instrument. Stay tuned!

If I hadn;t just blown a lot of cash on other gear, I'd be dialing up a 381 in BBR. that's a guitar with a lot of acreage on which to show off the finish.

I still think a 380L in standard finishes would be awesome. It would also answer a lot of citicisms about Rick's "vintage quirks," if you will.

By this time last year I already had my 370/12BB for a month, where are all the Bluebursts?

There are some nice pics of a 4003 BBR at Willie's American Guitars.

I'm wary of offending people here, but I'm not overly excited by the blueburst promo shots. For my money, the "burst" part doesn't have a steep enough gradient. It looks almost the same blue all the way through (just ever so slightly darker at the edges). I'm almost scared to post this...

I think it blows the MCC blueburst out of the water. Not even close.

There's something to be said for subtlety.

Although I think this is a finish that will work best on guitars with a lot of surface area and binding. In other words, 360s or 381s.
