4004Cii/5 owners - what are your impressions?

Post by highway_star »

I'm familiar with the regular Cii version; how does the 5-string version work? Is the string spacing suitable for finger-style playing? What other pros/cons do you notice to it?
If you think all is going well, you've obviously overlooked something.

I love mine. It sounds and looks great. I especially like the string spacing as compared to the 4003/5 which I also own. The latter is just too tight for me even though I have small hands. I will probably sell my 4003/5 and try to get another CII/5.

What colour is your 4003s5...? Interested in letting go of it, soon?

If so, I'm first in line. Image

Like Paul said, the string spacing is very comfortable for fingerstyle playing as well as slap style playing.

I don't play slap style that much, but the 4004/5Cii is well suited for for those who do.
Hey, I'll play slap style on a 4001 if necessary, it's those F*nd*r guys who can play slap style on a Rick, the same same guys that can't get good tone on one.

Henny,

I sent you an email with a picture of my 4003/5 if you are interested. For everyone else, here it is.....it's now for sale since I just bought a second 4004/5 CII.

I have the very same 4003S/5 Midnight Blue like yours Paul. I thought about selling it when my 4004/5Cii arrived since it is not very fingerstyle friendly for me, but I'm starting to get to play it well with a pick. I never thought I'd spend so much time playing a bass with a pick until I got it. I think if I sold my 4003S/5, I'd regret it.
