Case for a 3001

Post by kahoutek »

Anybody know where I can find one? Doesn't have to be an original Rick case (although, that would be nice). I just need to find a nice hardshell case that a 3001 will fit in.

Thanks in advance.

Keep an eye out on E-bay for cases for the 2000 series basses. I got one for my old 3001 and what's really nice about them is that they are custom fit, unlike the 3001 cases, and will fit a 3001 perfectly.

My 2020 and 2030 basses fit in Ric 4000 cases very nicely ...

It should fit in the generic plastic cases sold these days ...

I took my 2020 and tried it in a few cases ... I assume the 3001 is pretty much the same size and shape as a 2020 bass ...

The Ric wood tolex covered cases will work ... the black and the silver ones are a perfect fit ... the freem skb plastic cases are also a good fit ... fender jazz and p-bass wood tolex cases will work but they are a couple inches too long inside ...

Thanks Jeff and Dane!

On the previous post I meant to say Freedom case ... also the Ric plastic molded cases won't fit a 3001/2030 bass ...

Marcello, you can get one pretty inexpensively at musiciansfriend.com. Here's a link:

I would guess the 4003 would fit in it.

Jeff, will my 3001 fit snuggly in this one?

Someone's selling a silver vintage RIC case on E-Bay right now that has interior measurments that make it a bass case. They have a low starting bid too so check it out.

Thanks, you guys are great! I'm in search of an original RIC case because mine went damaged. Do you know that here in Italy the ric dealer doesn't sell cases? They said "the cases arrive only with the basses inside"... Viva l'italia...
