Wh;at is this (ebay link)? A "B" series 360

22 frets, neck and body (front and back) binding, triangle fretboard inlays, but the shape more typically associated with the 330. It's listed as a 1991. The position of the neck pickup (a bit lower than on current models) sorta gives it a "B" series look to me. Is that what it is?

I think you'll find Lawton that it has 24 frets. Looks like a standard 360WB (with binding) to me.
'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.

Thanks, Tony. I guess the triangle inlays threw me off with the frets.

Strangely enough I missed this one & I want a 360WB in mapleglo big time. The price is right, but the timing is wrong. I have a couple of Rics coming in & just can't see myself being able to afford this one as well. They don't seem to come around that often & I have been looking for one for a little while now. It's always the way isn't it......

I'm with Tony; I think it's a 360WB. BTW, I just bought one (albeit in much worse condition) as well. With any luck it will soon look as nice as this one.

BTW, here's a factoid: I was reading in the AGR FAQ that 'WB' stands for 'white binding', as opposed to 'with binding'. This doesn't make since to me, in that the same guitar with black trim is (IIRC) listed as a 360WBBT (the 'BT' standing for 'black trim'). It's a little curious if you expand that: 360 White Binding Black Trim. Image

Forgive me if this is common knowledge, but who came up with the "B" series idea anyway? Why go to all the trouble and not get it right? Did "B" stand for Beatles? Sorry, bur I don't know much abou this era in the Rickenbcker history

I agree Adam...it would be sense to assume 'with binding/black trim'.

Brian, Here's a B series:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=41439&item=7301984200&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

I don't know a lot about them, but they were early reissue type (they were not exact copies of the original, but more the style of the old ones). I think they were only made for 2-3 years.

Does anyone have production dates and appx. Quantities?

Aside from the toasters (and the 6 extra strings on the eBay guitar), what's the difference between the 360 B series and the 360WB?

The color is cool, it looks like a cross between a Fireglo and an Autumnglo. Looks like Ric was purposefully trying to do a faded Firegloto make look vintage.
