No. I believe it does say Ibanez. I think I am right in saying that Ibanez did use black text on the TRC but not in the same style as the Ric logo.

It's a cursive Ibanez logo like on my Ibanez J-bass copy. Highly collectable?

Only $699.00? What a value! Those things are highly collectible. Why...I'll bet that many experts even prefer the Ibanez!

The first "Ric" I ever saw was a 1972 Ibanez copy, in Black. It had checkered binding!

Believe it or not, it played really excellently, as Owen says. Image

My first "Ric" was an Electra 4001 copy. FG w/checker binding. Lousy action but I was a newby and didn't know how to adjust it. Met with a Townshend-esque end when I got my first real Ric.

My first Ric bass was actually a RIC bass. It still sounds great after all these years. Has it been that many years?

In the side-by-side photos of the front and back of the Ibanez, doesn't it appear that the bottom screws for the neck would intrude into the neck pickup cavity? (Short screws?) I'm having a hard time envisioning how that neck looks un-bolted. Does the neck slab extend way past where the fretboard stops?

Did M.C. Escher sue over this as well?
