With the 425

Rumor is that George used the Rick 425 on With the beatles sessions....anyone hear a rick on any of those tracks? im thinking Money.....because theres no distinguishable Gretsch sound....but i could be wrong....any one have any abbey road pictures from this time of them in the studio

Some have said that he might have used it on I want to hold your hand.

To me it sounds like a Gretsch but from what people have said a similar sound can be achieved with the 425.
I'm really not sure what to think since I've never really heard a 4-series model in person.

I have some pictures of them performing where Harrison uses the 425 but other then that I don't recall ever seeing a studio picture with the 425 in it.

I think it's the 425 on I want to hold your hand.
This was a single toaster p.u. (7.5KOhms) guitar,
the p.u. in the mid position, and with its full scale length and flat wound strings, played over
an AC30TB bright channel...

by the way: if you take your 325C58 switched to the bridge p.u. , and turning the tone pot to the low position, is this the sound of John's rhythm guitar?

I meant does it sound like George is using a ric on any of these tracks.....if thats what you mean.........I dont know....I feel like there is a certain punchiness about the gretsch country gent that the 425 lacks...but i could be wrong. are there any photos from those sessions???

Got to say IMO he used the 6122 pretty exclusively back then.

I tend to agree with Stan FWIW...The Beatles' sessions book has several pics from each major session and I can't recall seeing the 425 anywhere. I'm going from memory and could be wrong (book is at home), but I think it would have made a pretty strong impression had I seen it. Also, Beatles Gear goes into pretty good detail on the topic of the acquisition and use of the 425, but nil about album or recording use, again, as I recall.

there must be many pictures that havent been uncovered, and as years roll along im sure we will find the answers
