I know there's another thread in the bass forum that encourages the posting of photos of guys and gals playing their Rics but most of them are 'bass jocks'.

Perhaps we could start a new thread here with us 6/12 string players (I was going to say 'normal' but that wouldn't be fair, would it?) playing their instruments?

I'll go first, if you like!

Here's me at a recent gig in Mitcham, going hell for leather on my 660/12:



I have lots of trouble reaching the effects pedal - long breaks between numbers!

Here's a shot of me with my son Jeremy, who is eight years old and already a Rick fan. He's after a Model 460 FG with a white plastic scratchplate (so he tells me!). I'm playing my 1965 Model 1998 and Jeremy is strumming our recently sold 340/12. Not long now until we commence the Great US Guitar Adventure of 2005!

Lawton - Can you do what you're trying to do (i.e. imbed html in a post)? Try uploading an attachment. It will put a popjpg tag in your message, which will, in turn, display the image.

BTW, that guitar looks awfully small on you.

Nice shot, Darren. It's important that your children share the passion. Even if they don't take up playing, an appreciation of quality and excellence is necessary IMHO.

Can we have some more info on the Great US Guitar Adventure of 2005? Are you having T-shirts made? Will it be on Discovery channel?

Exactly where in the deep, dark US of A are ya gonna do the 'gee-tar' huntin' and what are you looking to put over the mantelpiece as a trophy?

OK, now for something sensible! As I said in my previous post, children need to be educated. Here's a shot of my 16 year old son Patrick (Pat) playing my 330/6 FG. He's a leftie and can play upside down, back to front! He plays my Yamaha APX5A acoustic/electric like a regular rightie!!



They tell me you have to stick your tongue out when you're playing *** about!

Here he is playing his BC Rich Platinum Warlock the right way around (for him!). As you can see, it needs a bloody good clean!! I'm happy to feed him and wash his clothes, etc. but he's in charge of hix axes!
