I too am a big fan of the light show series; one can find a bit more discussion of the 4005 version looking through the archives here. Just guessing, I know where three of the the five went. The only one I know of currently is the one in the photos you see here, which lives in Japan.
I'd obviously love to find one, but chances are it wouldn't work, and I'm not putting Mr. Hall through that ordeal again! (see link above) I'd rather have a regular 4005 in playable but average condition which I could actually take out of the house.
Lightshows are way cool though. You spend the whole set thinking "hmm, on which song should I flip the switch for the lights on?" The kids go "ahhhh." The guitar geeks go "dude!" Things like that.
Now if I could find a working Phantasmagorian...WITH the discs...
